For some time I have wanted to read The Alchemist, I first heard about the book a few years ago, but never got around to ordering the book. Two weeks ago I finally received a copy. I can tell you this book inspires you to revisit any dream you put out of minds eye, it reminds you no matter how old you are and no matter your background, if you want to find your Personal Legend its possible.
The Alchemist follows the journey of an Andalusian shepherd boy named Santiago, a beautiful parable about learning to listen to your heart, read the omens strewn along life’s path and, above all, follow your dreams. Santiago, a young shepherd living in the hills of Andalucia, feels that there is more to life than his humble home and his flock. One day he finds the courage to follow his dreams into distant lands, with the knowledge that he is following the right path: his own. The people he meets along the way, things he sees and the wisdom he learns are life-changing. As your read you find yourself thinking about omens you may have missed, and at what point did they abandon you. Paulo Coelho’s ,”The Alchemist blends spirituality, magical realism and folklore”
