Cicely Tyson an Icon

Born In Harlem New York Cicely Tyson is an award winning film , television and stage actress, Tyson most notable roles are  The Help’, ‘Miss Jane Pittman’, ‘A Trip To Bountiful’, among others. In addition to her success as an actress Tyson was awarded the NAACP’s 2010 Spingarn Medal for her contribution towards the entertainment industry, her modeling career, and her support of civil rights as well as the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Obama in November 2016.

Tyson has a school named after her in New York ‘The Cicely Tyson School of Performing and Fine Arts.’ At age 93 she is more active than ever appearing on the hit TV drama ‘How to Get Away with Murder’ and working the red carpet with class and style.
