Kimora Lee Simmons Leissner Is Relaunching Baby Phat
Kimora Lee Simmons Leissner announced on International Woman’s Day, at United Nations Women Global Innovator for Change she purchased her urban wear Baby Phat and planned to relaunch it with the help of her Daughters Ming 19, Aoki Lee 16. The brand was a subsidiary of her then ex-hubsand Russell Simmons successful clothing line Phat Farm.
“Here we are again, 20 years later in 2019, and now my daughters are with me taking the reigns,” she tells PEOPLE. “This is a woman-owned company, run by me and my daughters. I’ve been in fashion for 30 years. But now it’s about passing the torch from one to the next.” Leissner is hoping to launch this summer and have a spot during New York fashion week in September.
