My Netflix and Chill Picks for the Week.

Here are my movie and series picks for the week.  Some of us have the next couple of weeks off or we are working from home.  Whatever your case may be if you feel like you need to a distraction, this list should do the job. I have action, thrillers and horror. Let me know what you think.

The series takes place over 360 years in the future.  In the future, a person’s memories and consciousness can be decanted in a disk-shaped device called a cortical stack, which is implanted in the vertebrae at the back of the neck. These storage devices are of alien design and have been reverse engineered and mass-produced. Physical human or synthetic bodies are called “sleeves” and stacks can be transferred to new bodies after death, but a person can still be killed if their stack is destroyed. While this theoretically means anyone can live forever, only the wealthiest, known as “Meths” in reference to Methuselah, have the means to do so through clones and remote storage of their consciousness in satellites.

A deeply-flawed ex-lawyer named Don Koch, seeking a new start in life, purchases a run-down old house in the suburbs of Chicago with the intent of fixing it up to provide himself and his pregnant wife, Liz, a new life away from the city. He moves into the home ahead of her along with his dog Cooper, determined to begin renovating without professional help. He learns through his new neighbors that the house has a sordid past, and begins experiencing supernatural events within the home.

Disgraced former Boston police officer Spenser is released from a five-year prison sentence for intervening in a domestic dispute and assaulting his captain John Boylan. On the day of Spenser’s release, Boylan and another officer are murdered. Spenser teams up with his no-nonsense new roommate, Hawk, to investigate and take down the guilty parties. Rising property prices and a casino project on the former Wonderland dog track in Revere fuel greed and police involvement in selling drugs to obtain a share of the project. Spenser examines the evidence in an attempt to piece together the series of events involving the murderers, drug traffickers, and corrupt police officers.

After Rendell Locke is murdered at the hands of former student Sam Lesser, his wife Nina is forced to move with her three children Tyler, Kinsey, and Bode from Seattle to Matheson, Massachusetts and take residence in Rendell’s family home, Keyhouse. The children soon discover a number of mysterious keys throughout the house that can be used to unlock various doors in magical ways. However, they become aware of a demonic entity that is also searching for the keys for its own malevolent purposes.

Hidden away  by her eccentric father, a mysterious young girl, uncovers frightening truths when she starts to make contact with the outside world.
