I will start by saying I am not a big fan of Solange music. Solange first two albums didn’t stand out enough for me to give her any real thought musically, although I respect her creativity and willingness to think outside the box. The third album “Seat At The Table” made me listen and take notice and the single “Cranes In The Sky” is one of my favorites. She has since released her fourth album “When I get home” a collection of songs (snippets ) with a new age, jazz aspect, with a late 60’s mid 70’s vibe and not much vocal or lyrical content. Two songs stood out for me “Trains” and “Almeda”. My overall opinion of the album “it is the type of album you listen to if you want to just chill and eventually fall asleep” but I am no music critic.
